The Silversea spa experience celebrates indulgent wellness
Inspired by luxurious Roman baths, Silversea’s new wellness concept – Otium – is set to debut in spring 2022 aboard Silver Dawn and will be rolled out to the rest of the fleet over the course of the year. Based on the concept of well-balanced indulgence, Otium will initially launch with treatments and touches tied to the Mediterranean – think honey milk, sea salt and argan oil massages, an aperitivo – and will expand to include ingredients and experiences that are specific to the ship’s location. Regardless of where in the world Silversea sails, the holistic Otium concept of immersive well-being will extend beyond the spa – into the sumptuous suites, into kitchens which will offer unique culinary flourishes personalised for each guest as well.

When Barbara Muckermann, Chief Marketing Officer of Silversea, speaks of the new Otium offering, she says, “The back-to-basics spa programme has been conceived to cater to our guests – a group that travels extensively and deeply into the world, but always with elements of luxury.”
Otium, she says, is committed to “cutting out the mumbo jumbo and lengthy explanations” of Silversea’s extensive-yet-straightforward menu that includes body butter massages, thermal pool and sauna offerings, as well as beauty treatments ranging from mineral scrubs to cooling gel pedicures.
